About Me

Hi, I’m Axel Sobottka.

Born and grown up in Germany, I discovered my passion for photography as an exchange student in the United States.

Deeply impressed by the work of Ansel Adams, I took photography classes in high school and became more and more curious. After my return to Germany I started experimenting with a single-lens reflex camera and an own darkroom, where I developed my negatives and exposed the prints myself.

The transition to digital photography was a complete game changer for me. I appreciate the experience of the analogue era – but I love the possibilities of the digital world, especially the digital post-processing.

I would like to show you a few examples of my work – have fun!
